01. a delicately woven white woolen shawl, sewn over and fringed with red crystal beads like droplets of blood
02. a full feasts’ worth of red stoneware platters and bowls polished smooth as glass, each sporting a different glyph etched in gold
03. two folding hunters’ stools in blackoak and leather; one seat of white hide, one black
04. a braided torc of bronze, finials wrapped in loops around amber orbs
05. ten discs of compounded alchemical incense kept in a leather-lined brass box
06. a glittering violet-blue scale long as a fingertip, strung on a silver chain
07. a packet of letters on ancient parchment, each sporting colourful silk mending
08. an oval of rosy quartz the size of a quail’s egg, with drops of blood suspended inside
09. a blue steel gorget, mirror-smooth, engraved on the inner surface with prayer sigils
10. a pair of scallop shells lined, trimmed and hinged with gold, one shell packed with pigment and the other meant to hold water

Pleasant Small Things

I had some more trinket tables and decided to experiment with making them into a very basic, quarter-page zine.

It’s eight pages including the front and back cover, with six themed d10 tables.  If you set your pdf printer to print 2×2 pages per sheet, double-sided, the 2×2 pdf should work (I got it working in mine at least); yell if it misbehaves?

Some Tiny Trinket Tables

Here is a handful of d6 tables for finding a nifty thing a starting character or random NPC may be carrying, a wee reward or treasure, or a bit of colour in a dungeon room.

The tables are for broad themes, but that doesn’t mean they need to map to a particular class / job / profession / etc — choose whichever you like.  The results could make an interesting wrinkle in a story!

It’s already being A Weekend[tm].  So, a handful of small distractions to sneak into a game session.


01.  ivory beads, tumbled so smooth over the years with prayer and handling that the whorls of their entwined serpents are nearly worn away

02.  a piece of smoky obsidian worn and polished into the rough shape of a crouching frog with a butterfly in its mouth

03.  a delicate network of crystal nodes and hair-fine golden wire, intersecting and interlacing; is it a hairnet, a strange broad-collar, or something else?
